Do your 2025 goals reflect what truly matters?

He has made it all, beautiful in its time. Even the ages He has put in their hearts, except that no one finds out the work that Elohim does from beginning to end.
- Qoheleth (Ecclesiastes) 3:11

The start of a new year feels like a fresh page, doesn’t it?

As I continue my journey as a digital nomad, I always find myself reflecting not just on what I want to achieve, but on how I want to feel about my work and my impact. It’s easy to set ambitious goals — higher revenue, new clients, big wins. But what I’ve learned is that when goals aren’t tied to purpose, they can feel empty, even when you achieve them.

Redefining success through purpose-driven goals

We’ve all been there: you hit a target, but instead of feeling fulfilled, you feel… disconnected. That’s because success isn’t just about numbers. It’s about alignment.

When I reflect on my business goals, I don’t just ask, “What do I want to achieve?” I ask, “How does this goal reflect what really matters to me?” This approach has changed how I plan, both personally and professionally.

For example, instead of only setting revenue goals, I think about the systems and processes I need to simplify so I can spend less time on logistics and more time connecting with the things that matter most to me. Instead of just chasing growth, I think about the kind of impact I want to create.

Three goals every small business should set

If you’re planning your year, here’s what I recommend:

1. Set financial goals that feel realistic and aligned with your mission.

2. Set operational goals that simplify and streamline your business.

3. Set impact goals that reflect the difference you want to make — for your clients, your community, or even yourself.

When these three goals align, they create a roadmap for growth that feels intentional and rewarding. My Purpose-Driven Planning Toolkit can help with this – subscribe to this month’s newsletter to download it.

Making success a reflection of your purpose

As you plan for your 2025, take a moment to ask yourself: do your goals reflect what truly matters?

When your goals align with your values, success becomes more than just a number. It becomes a reflection of the impact you’re here to make.

So, what’s one goal you’re setting this year that truly reflects your purpose?

Shalom, everyone!
